29th : With a lot of emotion and talent, Catherine Deneuve reads three texts on stage during the event"Cuba si, Castro no" organized par Reporters Sans Frontières at the Théâtre du Rond-Point. She says that Marie Trintignant, should she be still alive, would have certainly agreed to read one of those texts.

9th : Catherine Deneuve announces her involvement against Fidel Castro and her presence at the event of solidarity with the Cuban people organized on September 29th by Reporters Sans Frontières.

31st : Catherine Deneuve is in Bratislava (Slovaquia) to present the "TOM" award of the most popular personality for TV channel Markiza. She spends 3 days in the country and comes back to be in France when her grandson returns to school, saying that it is very important to her.

25-26th : "Les liaisons dangereuses" are broadcasted on TF1and attract 5 million spectators, roughly 26 %market share. An honorable figure but far below the maximum audience of the channel.

6th : Catherine Deneuve attends with her daughter Chiara the funeral of Marie Trintignant, daughter of Nadine Trintignant (director of "Ca n'arrive qu'aux autres"), and actor Jean-Louis Trintignant, her partner in four movies. Marie Trintignant had played with Catherine Deneuve in "Ca n'arrive qu'aux autres", with Chiara Mastroianni in "Rêveuse jeunesse" and with Christian Vadim in the TV film "Victoire ou la douleur des femmes", three movies directed by her mother Nadine Trintignant.

2nd : Catherine is in Monaco for the premiere screening of TF1 mini-series "Les liaisons dangereuses" at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival.

June 2003

30th : Catherine Deneuve attends the press screening of "Les liaisons dangereuses" at the MK2 Bibliothèque cinema in à Paris, with director Josée Dayan and actress Leelee Sobieski. About the claims of show-business people, she declares : "How could you not support these people who try to work. Personally, I stand by them, I understand them. I hope that the festivals will not be too disturbed. These are jobs with a lot of unemployment, but as there is unemployment everywhere, it is probably difficult to arise compassion for the show-business jobs".

26th : Catherine Deneuve is among the 1800 guests at the magnificent party given in Pauillac by Chateau Mouton-Rothschild, celebrating its 150 years of existence and the thirtieth anniversary of its nomination as "premier cru".

14th : Catherine Deneuve has dinner at the "Rue Balzac" restaurant with 30 friends of Johnny Hallyday after one of his Paris concerts celebrating his 60th birthday. Johnny tells her "you are stunning", and Catherine answers "you're not the only one born in 43 !".

4th : The shooting of "Princesse Marie" ends with a scene shot in the Mediterranean sea in Saint-Tropez.

17th-18th : Catherine Deneuve pays a very discreet visit to the Cannes Festival (she did not hit the red carpet) to give interviews for L'Oréal of which she is an ambassador. She arrived on Saturday night from Vienna and leaves on Sunday afternoon to return to the shooting location of "Princesse Marie".

April 2003

24th : The cast and director of "Princesse Marie" give a press conference in Vienna.

22nd : Chiara Mastroianni and Benjamin Biolay have a baby girl : Anna.

1st : Beginning of the shooting of "Princesse Marie" in Vienna, under the direction of Benoît Jacquot. This TV film narrates the friendship between Marie Bonaparte, grand-niece of Napoleon and psycho-analyst, and Sigmund Freud (played by Heinz Bennent who was Catherine Deneuve's husband on screen in "The last metro"). Marie Bonaparte helped Freud to escape from Austria and the nazis. The screenplay, written by Louis Gardel and François-Olivier Rousseau has been awarded the grand prize for best TV screenplay at the FIPA. The shooting will last until the end of May, in Vienna and in France.

18th : Catherine Deneuve attends a lunch organized by chef Alain Ducasse at the Plaza Athénée, for the release of the new Rémy Martin brandy.

26th : Louis Gardel and François-Olivier Rousseau are awarded for "Princesse Marie" the Grand Prize of Best Screenplay for TV, awarded by the FIPA.The film will be directed by Benoît Jacquot, with Catherine Deneuve and Heinz Bennent, and the shooting will take place in Vienna this spring.

24th : The movie "Huit femmes" gets 12 nominations for the Césars (ceremony on February 22nd), including those of best film, best director, best actress for Fanny Ardant and Isabelle Huppert, best supporting actress for Danielle Darrieux, et feminine revelation for Ludivine Sagnier. But how could the voters overlook Catherine Deneuve, who is so wonderful throughout the movie ?

22nd : Catherine Deneuve attends a fundraising dinner organized at the Pré Catelan for the AIDS association "Ensemble contre le sida" by Pierre Bergé, on behalf of the French Federation of Couture. Jean-Claude Brialy, Isabelle Huppert, Line Renaud, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Kenzo, Yohji Yamamoto, and other fashion designers, actors and singers, as well as the Minister of Culture, attend the gala.

18th : Catherine Deneuve is the guest of honor of the first TV show "Amore mio" on Italian TV Rai Uno.

9th : Catherine Deneuve attends the Alfredo Arias show "Concha muy bonita" at the Chaillot theatre.
